Store update this weekend

I will be adding a number of new figures this weekend, Saturday June 5th... Some items like the Sophia will be limited, but others will have a high enough number that most should be able to snag one. :)

Life always gets in the way... but...

So it seems life always seems to get in the way of having fun and making toys. haha

My brother who went into the Hospital for a very infected foot and ended up losing it, went into the hospital again with another infection. Hopefully he wont lose anymore of his leg, its looking good, but its one of those that needs to heal completely before finding out. sucks...

and ...

on top of that my dad was just in the hospital and had to have surgery to rearrange his intestines due to a disorder that he was born with and didnt know about. luckily it wasnt too bad and he was out in a week... now his heart is under a watchful eye due to his low hear trate he didnt know he had either. but in the end there is always a silver lining, while in there they found a carcinoma that they were able to deal with, which would have turned into cancer and he would have never know.

ugh... toys soon? hopefully! .

on a good note Justin "MetalMonkey" Gadze will be releasing his first UoV continuation series "Chaos Dimension" soon. i casted these up for him and he should have them in hand by the end of the week, so look for them soon... here on his blog! -- http://metalmonkeystudios.blogspot.com/

I have a few things in the works, that should be getting some attention and put in my store soon. Newly casted up Gumbals Laserbeasts of Sea Panic and Brown Lion, some very cool Ninja Turtles Sidekicks figures, He-man keshi (Fisto and Jitsu), and a few others... Just need to get some family duties dealt with first. :)

Also I will be having a special release of 5 Tankheads soon, so keep an eye out for that.

Hope you guys havent forgot about me. :P

There has been talk...

I've been hearing a few people talk recently about the Polytek rubber I use and the fact it contains Aryl mercury compound. Yes "Part B" contains (< 1%) Aryl mercury compound, it is used to speed up the process of curing. That way I can unmold a figure in 1hr instead of 16hrs. I have talked to Polytek a handful of times over the years for different reasons, and when I bring up the hazardness of holding a cured item in any of the Poly Pt Flex series' they always say the same thing: It's at its most harmful state when it's in its liquid state, but once it's cured the possibility of absorb any Mercury is almost nil. How many people walk around for days on end with a figure in their hands anyway~? If you suck on a figure for a good amount of time or maybe eat a figure, then maybe yes you will leech some of it into your system. But get this: it would still be less than if you ate shrimp, tuna, salmon, or catfish, etc... These all contain Mercury in them.  Heck, people love Shark, Swordfish, and Mackerel, and those fish have high amounts of mercury in them.

I understand if you have a young child and don't want them near the figure as they may put them in their mouth, or if you have a mentally challenged uncle who might shove it up his ass. Either keep it out of their reach and on a shelf like most collectors do.  My figures are intended as an adult collectible, I'm not intending these for children to play with.

I've been asked a few times, what if the figure didn't cure properly and there might be more of a risk to absorb the tiny amount you say~? Ive been using this rubber for a few years now, I've casted hundreds of figures in all ways, shapes, and sizes. I know how to mix and cast with it, and I know exactly what it feels like if the mix was off.

The MSDS write up with this information is written to follow many laws and cautions for mailing items and disposing of items, and in the end to cover their ass just in case ANYTHING happens. There maybe a small chance of leeching a tiny amount of Mercury, but its so small it doesn't matter.

Remember its made for movie props, prototyping and model making, that usually involves plenty of handling. The handling from the common collector will not result in any harmful effects from the mercury in the figure.

MOTU Muscles

Early in 2011 my bud Wolf from www.Solarcolordust.com (that sells amazing Glow and Thermal Dust for casting and painting) released two Kitbashed figures in resin colored with his magic dusts, a He-man and a Skeletor. Great figures, but he didnt cast up very many. Now over a year later and Wolf out of the custom figure game, I am collabing with him to re-release them along with Beastman who he didnt get to release originally... this time in Rubber,  not Resin. :)

I will be releasing them in normal and neon colors. Wolf will be selling some in Glow and Thermal versions.
